Rocker Arm Cover - Installation

Valve Cover:

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. New gasket.
- Make sure gasket is seated properly in valve rocker arm cover groove.
2. Valve rocker arm cover and bolts.
- Apply thread lock compound GM P/N 12 45493 or equivalent to valve rocker arm cover bolt threads.
- Tighten bolts to 10 Nm (89 lbs. in.).
3. Spark plug wire cover to valve rocker arm cover.
4. Spark plug wires.
5. Generator brace.
6. Brace to generator bolt.
7. Serpentine drive belt.
8. Engine lift bracket to exhaust manifold studs.
- Tighten nuts to 55 Nm (41 lbs. ft.).
9. Fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair
10. Negative battery cable.
- Tighten bolt to 15 Nm (11 lbs. ft.).
11. Inspect for proper fluid levels and check for oil leaks.
