Engine Removal
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT1. Hood with assistant.
2. Negative battery cable.
3. Air cleaner.
Fuel Rail And Regulator Pipes:
4. Relieve fuel pressure. Remove fuel lines from rail and mounting bracket.
- Lay aside.
5. Engine coolant.
6. Coolant recovery bottle.
7. Inner fender electrical cover.
8. Fuel injector sight cover.
9. Throttle cables from throttle body and mounting bracket.
10. Heat shield from crossover pipe (rear).
11. Throttle cable mounting bracket and vacuum line as an assembly.
12. Exhaust crossover pipe from manifolds.
13. Engine torque strut bolt and strut from engine.
14. Engine cooling fan, right side.
15. Vacuum line to transaxle module.
16. Serpentine belt.
17. Power steering pump, complete.
18. Generator.
19. Electrical connections from engine.
20. Upper and lower radiator hoses from engine.
21. Heater hoses from engine.
22. Transaxle to engine bolts and round wire harness with bolt.
23. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
24. Right front tire and wheel.
25. Inner fender splash shield.
26. Flywheel cover.
- Scribe torque converter to flywheel for installation.
27. Flywheel to torque converter bolts.
28. Wire harness clamps from frame near radiator.
29. A/C compressor from bracket. Refer to SECTION 1B.
- Lay A/C compressor aside and secure to frame.
30. Starter motor.
31. Transaxle to engine bolt through wheel well using long extension.
32. Engine mount to frame nuts.
33. Oil filter.
34. Oil cooler pipes from hose connections.
35. Front exhaust pipe from manifold.
36. Lower vehicle.
37. Engine assembly from vehicle.
