MEMORY SEAT AND OUTSIDE MIRRORS INTERMITTENTLY WILL NOT OPERATE

MODELS AFFECTED:
1991 PARK AVENUE/ULTRA WITH OPTION A43


CONDITION:
Some owners of 1991 Park Avenue vehicles may experience a problem where the memory seat/mirror module may lock-up. This disables the driver's 6-way seat and both outside mirrors. Cycling the power to the module by either disconnecting the two-way connector under the seat or removing and reinstalling the 30 amp seat circuit breaker resets the module and allows temporary operation of the seat until the next lock-up.

CORRECTION:
A new module has been released by GMSPO for service. With the installation of this part, the diagnostics will also change. The new module will enter the diagnostic mode when the diagnostic terminal is grounded and a 6-way seat switch is pressed. All other diagnostic functions will remain the same.

PARTS INFORMATION:
Part No. 16719244 is expected to be available on October 1, 1991. In case of limited inventory, parts will be placed on 400 control to waive VIP surcharges. Only verifiable emergency VIP orders will be accepted. SPO will make every effort to obtain parts. However, the part will be shipped premium transportation at dealer's expense and all other order types will be placed on backorder until the 400 control is removed.
