Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
Note: Theft Deterrent System allows a bidirectional scan tool activate/monitor the following theft related outputs and inputs.
Inputs
^ LH/RH Front Door Lock Cylinder Switch input - if scan tool indicates inoperative switch, do Remote Accessory Control (RAC) Module Input/Output Test B and check terminal A.
^ Tamper switch input - if scan tool indicates a closed tamper switch, do Tamper Switch Test H.
Outputs
^ Headlights alarm output - if inoperative, do Remote Accessory Control (RAC) Module Input/Output Test B, check terminal G.
^ Horn alarm output - if inoperative, do Remote Accessory Control (RAC) Module Input/Output Test B, check terminal H.
^ SECURITY Indicator control output - if inoperative, do Remote Accessory Control (RAC) Module Input/Output Test B, check terminal C.
SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS
No crank: SECURITY Indicator Do TEST A - do 1st
does not light during System Do TEST C - do 2nd
Check.
No crank: SECURITY Indicator Do TEST A - do 1st
is continuously lit. Do TEST C - do 2nd
No crank: SECURITY Indicator Do TEST D
operates normally.
Crank but no start: PCM code Do TEST E
58 may be present.
SECURITY Indicator does not Do TEST B
light during System Check -
Normal Operation (Forced
Entry)
SECURITY Indicator does not Do TEST F
light during System Check -
Normal Operation (PASS-Key)
engine starts.
SECURITY Indicator stays on Do TEST G
with Ignition Switch at RUN;
engine starts.
SECURITY Indicator is Check DK GRN (264) wire, PASS-Key Decoder
continuously lit with Module and Remote Accessory (RAC) Module
Ignition Switch at OFF. for shorts to ground.
Alarm functions do not operate. Do TEST H - do 1st
Do TEST B - do 2nd
False alarm. Do TEST I
Horns do not sound; lights Do TEST B
flash during alarm.
Light do not flash; horns Do TEST B
sound during alarm.
System does not disarm and/or Do TEST B
cancel when commanded by key
switch and door switch.
