C710

Picture Circuit:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:

This code indicates there is an intermittent problem with the CRT's switches circuits. If the fault was present, you would not be able to enter diagnostics to see this code. If this code is set, there is an intermittent problem within the 4 data circuits, the keyboard feedback circuit, or the 5.0 volt power or ground circuit. Manipulate these circuits while checking continuity, or by using tester J34914. Since the intermittent problem is the switches not responding, continually select different switches while manipulating circuits. When the failure occurs, the switches on the CRT will not work.

Code C710 will only show up as a history code, as it indicates a problem in the switches, on the face of the CRT, circuits. If the problem was current, you would not be able to enter diagnostics to see the code. If code C710 history appears, this indicates an intermittent open in circuit: 220, 221, 223, 836, or an intermittent open or short to ground in circuit 332 or 305. Failure condition must be present for 9 seconds to set this code.
