22-27 K
31-38, 41-48, 55-58, 75-78 L
51-54, 71-74 M
61 N
2. "History" codes indicate intermittent problems. Do not use trouble code diagnosis for intermittent problems until you have done the following:
^ Check all connectors for good contact. Repair/replace as necessary.
^ Test drive the car.
The purpose of the test drive is to:
1. Observe an abnormal condition that does not cause the ANTI-LOCK and BRAKE Indicators to light; and
2. To determine exact conditions which cause one of the Indicators to light.
Test drive car as follows:
1. See "Possible Conditions" listed on the diagnostic chart for your code(s). As you drive, try to reproduce these conditions.
2. Start car and observe the BRAKE Indicator. If it is lit, do not drive the car. Return to the Symptom/Diagnosis Guide.
3. Drive car at least 32 km/h (20 mph). This will complete the code clearing.
4. Make several stops from moderate speeds on a smooth, dry road. Observe any unusual noises or handling of car. Some things to note would be clicking or popping sounds, pulling to either side, or a change in brake pedal "feel " If ANTI-LOCK indicator lights, then stop, read, and record any stored codes. Be sure to note conditions that caused indicator to light. Go to Symptom/Diagnosis Guide.
5. Repeat step 4 in a safe, open area with a poor road surface such as gravel. This should cause the ABS to operate.
