Condition, Dealer Action, Vehicles Involved, Dealer Action & Owner Notification Information
CONDITIONGeneral Motors has determined that some 1988 Buick Regal's may have the neutral start switch wiring harness routed too close to the hydraulic brake lines. If they come into contact, a rubbing condition could result creating an eventual short circuit to ground. A short circuit can cause starter motor run-on or a blown fuse. Both of these conditions could lead to a "no-start" condition.
DEALER ACTION
To prevent this condition from occurring, the neutral start switch wiring harness will be inspected and repaired, or replacement of the neutral start switch will be made when necessary.
