Intake Manifold: Service and Repair























Remove or Disconnect
1. Raise hood and cover fenders
2. Depressurize and disconnect fuel lines from fuel rail.
3. Negative battery cable
4. Drain coolant
5. Serpentine belt
6. Generator and brace
7. Power steering pump braces
8. Coolant bypass hose
9. Heater pipe
10. Upper radiator hose
11. Air inlet duct
12. Throttle cable bracket from throttle body
13. Vacuum hoses from intake manifold
14. Electrical connections
15. EGR pipe
16. EGR valve and adapter from throttle body adapter
17. Throttle body coolant pipe from intake manifold
18. Throttle body adapter and throttle body from intake manifold
19. Rear spark plug wires
20. Intake manifold bolts and intake manifold

Install or Connect
^ To complete installation, observe the following assembly tips and reverse the removal procedure.

Assembly Tips
^ Clean the cylinder block, heads and intake manifold sealing surface of ALL oil with a suitable solvent.
^ Apply sealer P/N 12345336 or equivalent to the ends of the manifold seals.
^ Clean the intake manifold bolts and bolt holes of adhesive compound.
^ Apply thread lock compound P/N 1052624 to the intake manifold bolts before assembly.
^ Tighten the intake manifold bolts TWICE to 10 N.m (88 lbs. in.). Follow the sequence.
^ Lubricate throttle body coolant and heater pipe 0-ring seals with antifreeze before assembly.
