Code C339:

Tape Deck Circuit:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:

Code C339 will set if the CRTC cannot communicate with the radio when the ignition is "ON" and the CRTC is sending a message to the radio that requires the radio to send a response back.

TEST DESCRIPTION: Numbers below refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.

1. Determines if problem is in data loop or radio circuitry.

2. Determines if common power ground feeds were lost or if problem is in data loop.

3. Determines if data loop is shorted to ground or if the loop is open, isolating the CRTC.

4. Determines if the problem is in ignition versus a power circuit or device problem, or ground circuit problem.

5. Determines if the problem is in power circuit or the device.

6. Determines if the problem is in ignition circuit or ground.

7. Determines if the problem is in the device or opens in data loop.

NOTE ON INTERMITTENTS:

If both the radio and tape deck codes are set, look for common problem in power, ground, ignition, or data circuits.
