B335

Loss Of Compass Module Circuit:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:

This code can only be viewed as a history, indicating an intermittent problem. The code cannot be displayed as current, since this would mean the problem is present now, and, if the problem is present, diagnostics cannot be entered to read codes out. Code B335 will set, if the ignition is "ON," and the BCM is not able to exchange data with the CRTC.

If the problem was presently occurring, the SELF DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK, would address the problem. If this code ever appears, the operator may complain that the CRT sometimes flips to a radio function page. This intermittent problem would be caused by two opens in the data circuit, one on either side of the CRTC, isolating it from the BCM. If code B335 is set as history, along with any other communication codes see chart on MULTIPLE INTERMITTENT CODES.

DIAGNOSIS:

If customer complains of CRT monitor flipping from whatever page he is on to radio function page, check for poor terminal contact at CRTC C-5 and D-6, also check for intermittent opens in CKTS 800C and 800B/J. If customers complaint is CRT monitor intermittently going blank with this code stored, check for poor terminal contact C-1 at CRTC or C-4 at CPS. If OK, check for intermittent open in CKT 812B. Code B553 would also be stored in this case.
