Code B332:

Loss Of Compass Module Circuit:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:

Code B332 will set if the BCM cannot communicate with the compass module for longer than 2.0 seconds.

TEST DESCRIPTION: Numbers below refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.

1. Since the data CKT to the compass is spliced off the data loop, an open in CKT 800X will not stop the BCM from communicating with any of the other devices. However, if Code B337 is set, data from the BCM may not be getting to CKT 800X since it is not getting to the programmer.

2. Determines if the code is Intermittent.

3. Checks to see if the compass module has power and ground.

4. Determines if this is the 7.0 volt CKT or ground that is open.

5. Determines if the data CKT is open or if the compass module is bad.

NOTE ON INTERMITTENTS:

If code B332 shows up as history, check for intermittent opens in CKT's 801E, 807C, and/or 800X. The problem will not be a short in these CKT's as this would prevent on-board diagnostics from operating.
