Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

Remove or Disconnect
1. Depressurize and disconnect fuel lines from fuel rail.
2. Negative battery cable.
3. Mass air flow sensor and air intake duct.
4. Serpentine accessory drive belt, generator and bracket.
5. Ignition module and wiring.
6. Vacuum lines and wiring connectors as necessary.
7. Throttle, cruise control and T.V. cables from throttle body.
8. Drain coolant.
9. Heater hoses from throttle body.
10. Upper radiator hose.
11. Fuel lines
12. Intake manifold bolts.
13. Intake manifold and gasket.

Install or Connect
^ To complete installation, observe the following assembly tips and reverse the removal procedures.

Assembly Tips
^ Clean the cylinder block, heads and intake manifold of all oil with a suitable solvent.
^ Apply P/N 12345336 or equivalent to the ends of the manifold seals.
^ Apply P/N 1052080 to all pipe thread fittings.
^ Tighten the intake manifold bolts in sequence to 44 N.m (32 lbs. ft.)
