SUBJECT: ITCH TYPE NOISE IN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
MODELS AFFECTED: 1987 ELECTRA AND PARK AVENUE
FIGURE 1 - (FRONT VIEW):
If a comment on the above condition is encountered, check for clearance between the lower portion of the bezel and cluster by inserting a piece of paper between the bezel and cluster (See illustration, Figure 1). Clearance should be approximately 1.5 mm. If clearance is insufficient, correct as follows:
1. Remove instrument panel pad.

2. Remove six cluster attaching screws; remove bezel (See illustration, Figure 2).
FIGURE 3 - (REAR VIEW):
3. Remove sufficient material from one or more of the boss areas of the instrument panel.
4. Reinstall bezel, instrument panel pad and recheck for clearance.
