Seat Cushion Heater Element Replacement - Front
SEAT CUSHION HEATER ELEMENT REPLACEMENT - FRONT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the front bucket seat.
2. Remove the seat back.
3. Remove the seat adjuster.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector for the heated seat, if equipped.
5. Remove the J-hook retainers at the front of the seat cushion cover.
6. Remove the J-hook retainers on the sides of the cover.
7. Remove the J-hook retainers at the rear of the cover.
8. Remove the hook and the loop retainers securing the cover to the cushion.
9. Remove the hog rings from the cover.
10. Remove the cover from the front seat cushion.
11. If the cushion is damaged, replace the cushion.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the replacement heater element over the original heater element. DO NOT remove the original heater element. If this is a second repair, remove the old replacement heater element from the original and install the new heater element over the original.
2. Install the cover onto the front seat cushion.
3. Install the hog rings to the front seat cushion cover.
4. Install the J-hook retainer on the front of the cover.
5. Install the J-hook retainers on the sides of the cover.
6. Install the J-hook retainer on the rear of the cover.
7. Install the hook and the loop retainers securing the cover to the cushion, by pressing in place until fully seated.
8. Install the seat adjuster.
9. Connect the electrical connector for the heated seat, if equipped.
10. Install the seat back.
11. Install the bucket seat.
CAUTION: To avoid personal injuries, re-zero the passenger presence system whenever you remove or replace the seat cushion or trim. Failure to do so may cause the system to malfunction.
12. Re-zero the passenger presence system. Refer to Passenger Presence System Rezeroing Procedure in Restraint Systems.
