Console Shift Lever Bezel Replacement (Oldsmobile, Buick)

Removal Procedure

1. Block the wheels to prevent the vehicle from moving.
2. Remove the floor shift control boot from the floor console.
3. Adjust the shift lever fully rearward.
4. Remove the console storage bin.




5. Starting at the rear of the bezel, lift the bezel to release the retaining clips.




6. Partially remove the bezel from the console.
7. Disconnect the in-line electrical connector to the traction control switch.
8. Remove the bezel from the vehicle.
9. If replacing the bezel, and if the vehicle is equipped with traction control, remove the traction control switch and electrical harness and retain for transfer.

Installation Procedure




1. If necessary, install the traction control switch and wiring harness to the bezel.
2. Position the trim plate to the console.




3. Install the bezel to the console ensuring the retaining clips are fully seated.
4. Install the floor shift control boot to the floor console.
5. Install the console storage bin.
6. Position the shift lever in the PARK position.
7. Remove the wheels blocks from the vehicle.
