Expansion Valve: Service and Repair

Removing And Installing/Replacing Expansion Valve


Follow instructions for dryer bottle replacement.
Refrigerant drawn off from A/C system.
Remove trim for entrance at front right.
Remove side trim panel for footwell at front right.
Remove right glovebox.
Remove servodrive of fresh air flap.







Unscrew nut (1).
Release screws (2) of refrigerant lines (3).
Disconnect refrigerant lines (3).

Installation:
Replace sealing rings.
Check that grommet (4) is correctly seated.







Fold back floor trim panel at front right (1).
Release screws (2) and nuts (3).
Remove bulkhead support plate (4) in direction of arrow.


Caution! Do not bend floor trim panel.







Unscrew nut (1).
Remove lamp control module (2) in direction of arrow and place to one side.







Unscrew bolt (1).
Detach lines (2) in direction of arrow and feed out in direction of footwell.

Installation:
Replace sealing rings.
If necessary, replace grommet (3).
Coat grommet (3) with antiseize agent.
Check that grommet (3) is correctly seated.







Unlock linkage (3) of fresh air flap and unclip in direction of arrow.
Release screws (1) and remove cover (2).







Remove insulation (1).
Release screws (2).
Remove expansion valve (3) in direction of arrow.

Installation:
Replace sealing rings.
