Replacing Transmission Output Flange

Special tools required:
^ 23 0 020
^ 23 0 320

Note: Remove output flange and radial seal.

The output flange is installed with a preload of 0.05 - 0.22 mm.
Preload is set with the help of shims.





Calculating shims:
Screw on collar nut (1) without shim and tighten down with special tool 23 0 020/23 0 320.
Tightening torque 200 Nm.
Release collar nut (1).





Calculate distance "A" from flange surface to extension of output shaft.
Example: "A" = 26.2 mm





Calculate distance "B" from flange surface to support surface of collar nut.
Example: "B" = 22.7 mm

Dimension A
- Dimension B
- Preload
= Total thickness of both shims
Example:
26.20 mm
- 22.70 mm
- 0.10 mm
=3.40 mm

Note: Shims are available in increasing sizes of 0.1 mm from 1.4 mm to 2.1 mm,.
