Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

Replacing Fuel Filter (S62)

Switch off ignition.


CAUTION!
The fuel in the fuel lines is under pressure (approx. 5 bar)! Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.

E39 only:







Release screws (1).
Press cover (2) downwards on left side of floor plate.

E52 only:







Remove cover (1).

E39 and E52:







Release screws on holders of fuel filter. Open quick release couplings (1) and detach fuel hoses from fuel filter.
Detach vacuum hose (2).
Remove fuel filter (3).


NOTE: Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.







Installation:
Mount brackets (1) of fuel filter and housing (2) of pressure regulator together with pressure regulator on new fuel filter.
