Special tools required:

Caution: The "Instructions for window cementing" serve as the basis for these repair instructions and must be followed without fail.

Remove panel for rear window frame at bottom.







Note: Before removing rear window, note down measurement (A) - on account of distortion of plastic shell.

A = approx. 1265 mm (pin middle to pin middle)
dia. = 15 mm

Secure a wooden block or roof batten to a work bench or lifting platform. Drill 2 holes at measured distance (A).
Set hard top on wooden block, protect front with foam material against scratching and secure against tipping.







Tape off hard top around rear window (3) (risk of damage).

Caution: Wear protective goggles and cut-proof gloves.

Tape off entire area of rear window (3) with film, e.g. book binding film (splinter protection).
Carefully tap rear window (3) with a hammer and remove up to cement bead.
If cement at top/side has bonded roof liner (2), cut through this area with a scalpel (do not damage roof liner).
Tape off bonding flange (4) with adhesive tape.

Note: Prior to each use, regrind blade (1) with a grinding stone while machine is running (new blades also).

Cut through cement bead at bottom in area (A)with 24mm* L-blade(1).
Area (B) is cut out with a straight, 45 mm* long blade, refer to next work step.

Caution:
- Due to paintwork damage in the visible area, a second person must protect the paint with tow special tools 00 9 341.
- Tape off roof liner (2) down to below rear window (3) with yellow plastic adhesive tape. Hard top must be replaced if roof liner (2) is damaged.


Cut through cement bead from inside with a straight, 45 mm long blade (1).
Vacuum out glass splinters also from below seal.

Cut through spacer buffer (4) in middle and stick onto roof liner (1).
*Liner is the protective film on the dual-lock tapes (5); these vary in height and therefore only one variety may be attached to the hard top.

Attach special tool 51 3 010 twice to tool trolley. Moisten suction surfaces and secure rear window from outside.
Clean rear window and stick on dust seal (6); almost vertical part must face window edge (5). Bond contact faces (4) with superfast adhesive.
*Liner is the protective film on the dual-lock tapes (8); these vary in height and therefore only one variety may be attached to the rear window.
Stick on all 7 dual-lock tapes (8) at bottom.
Almost vertical part (B) of cement bead (1) must face dust seal (6).
Spread adhesive bead (4) with special tool 00 9 322.







Installation:
A second person is required to install the rear wine special tool 51 3 010.
- Position rear window (1) at bottom in a line (3) fin (4)
- even out at sides
- position at top
- engage dual-lock tapes (5) at bottom
2 Seal, bottom







Installation:
Attach cable (1) of heated rear window to roof liner (2) approx. 10 mm with superfast adhesive.
