Replacing Left or Right Control Arm

Caution: Adjust front axle after assembly, refer to Alignment, Service and Repair.





Remove engine splash guard.

Right side: Remove ride level sensor.

Release nut (1) and remove control arm from front axle support.

Release nut (2) a few turns so as to prevent control arm from slipping away out of control when it is forced off.

Installation:
Tapered spigot and bore both free of grease.

Fit washers (3) Replace self-locking nut and if necessary grip hexagon socket.

Nut (1), tightening torque, refer to Specifications.

Nut (2), tightening torque, refer to Specifications.





Press control arm off swivel bearing with special tool 31 2 240.

Unscrew nut and remove control arm.
