Selector Shaft, A/T



Note: After completing work, top up ATF level.

Check/top up fluid level in automatic transmission, refer to Transmission Fluid, Testing and Inspection.

It is absolutely essential to use the approved automatic transmission fluid in this automatic transmission
Failure to comply with this requirement will result in serious damage to the automatic transmission!





Grip clamping piece (1).
Loosen nut (2).
Unfasten nut (4).
Remove selector lever (3).
Tightening Torque for nut (2), refer to Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Specifications.
Tightening Torque for nut (4), refer to Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Specifications.





Screw special tool 24 5 361 into radial sealing ring.





Screw special tool 24 5 362 onto special tool 24 5 361 and tighten down.
This pulls the radial seal out of the transmission housing.





Screw adapter sleeve (1) from sealing kit onto manual shift valve shaft.
Coat sealing lips of radial seal (2) with automatic transmission fluid.
Push radial seal (2) onto manual shift valve shaft and press into transmission housing as far as possible.
Grip radial seal (2) firmly.
Unscrew adapter sleeve (1) from manual shift valve shaft.





Pull radial seal into transmission housing up to stop with special tool 24 5 363 and 24 5 364.

Installation:
Adjust selector lever, refer to Shift Lever, Adjustments.
