Front Seat Belt (Complete Unit), Replacement

Caution!
Note safety regulations for handling airbag modules and pyrotechnical belt tensioners.

Inexpert handling can trigger off the airbag or the belt tensioner and thus cause injury.

Removing front seat.
Remove finisher from front seat
Remove trim from B-pillar.





Remove orange plug connection (1) for belt tensioner.
Open cable connector (2).

Installation:
Secure cable with cable connector (2) in such a way that orange plug connection (1) is not and tension.





Unscrew bolt (1).
Remove belt tensioner.

Installation:

Tightening Torque: 48 Nm

Note encoding for belt tensioner on seat.

Layout of retainer for belt tensioner on seat:
1 Bolt
2 Belt tensioner
3 Lock washer





Remove clip (1).
Remove bracket (2).
Unfasten screw (3) and remove inertia reel units.

Installation:

Tightening Torque for screw (3): 48 Nm

Note encoding of inertia reel units on B-pillar.
Ensure Bowden cable is correctly seated in clip (1).





Unfasten (1) nut and remove D-ring from seatbelt height adjustment unit.

Installation:

Tightening Torque: 31 Nm





If necessary, remove seatbelt height adjuster: to do this, disconnect Bowden cable and remove seatbelt height adjuster.

Installation:

Tightening Torque: 24 Nm
