Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

Replacing Fuel Filter / Fuel Pressure Regulator (M54)

Note:
Fuel pressure regulator is integrated in fuel filter and cannot be removed.



Caution!
The fuel in the fuel lines is under pressure (approx. 3 - 5 bar)! Catch and dispose of escaping fuel. Switch off ignition.

Release screws ( 1 ).

Press cover ( 2 ) on underbody downwards.







Detach vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator.

Release clamps ( 1 and 2 ) and detach fuel lines from fuel filter ( 4 ).

Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.

Installation:

Replace camps

Release screw ( 3 ).

Remove fuel filter ( 4 ).
