Oil Separator: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation of Oil Strainer for Engine VentOil seperator layout
Oil Separator location on intake manifold.
Crankcase vent system hoses.
Hose routing and connections on the intake manifold.
Hose routing under the intake manifold.
Oil Separator shown with cold climate wrap.
Removal
Remove / Disconnect:
- Remove manifold cover.
- Remove air cleaner: Remove air cleaner housing complete with mass air flow sensor.
- Plug connector at mass air flow sensor.
- Plug connector at air shut-off valve in vacuum line.
- Vacuum line at intake hose.
- Intake hose with mass air flow sensor.
- Suction jet pump on mounting bracket.
- Intake hose at throttle valve.
- Fuel tank vent valve on support bracket.
- Plug connector at resonance valve.
- Resonance valve on manifold.
- Throttle valve with gasket.
- Plug connector at idle speed control valve.
- Screw connection, cable duct on manifold.
- Screw connection, dipstick guide tube on engine support arm.
- Oil return line at dipstick guide tube.
- Oil seperator block on manifold.
- Hose at oil seperator block.
- Oil return hose at oil seperator.
- Engine ventilation line on cylinder head cover.
- Engine ventilation line at cyclon oil seperator.
- Line at oil seperator.
- Oil seperator on manifold.
- Carefully disconnect crankcase vent hoses and remove the Oil Separator. Be careful to not break connecting clips.
Note: Check crankcase vent hoses and fittings for damage. Replace as nec.
Installation
- Reinstall Oil Separator in reverse order.
