Parking Brake Lever: Service and Repair

Installation:


After completion of work, adjust the handbrake.
Adjustments





Lift out cover caps (1) and unfasten screws.
Unclip rubber gaiter (2).





Unfasten bolt and remove finisher.





Installation:
Tab for mounting clip may not be damaged.





Remove fresh-air grill in rear compartment. Unfasten screws (1) and nuts (2).





Open lid (1) and remove with storage tray (2).





With special tool 34 1 030, unfasten lock nut. Completely unfasten lock nut and adjustment nuts from Bowden cables.

Installation:
Note adjustment specifications and secure adjustment nut with lock nut.





Note: To simplify understanding, this and the next work step are shown without the center console.

Unscrew bolts (1) and (2).





Release screw (1) through aperture under storage tray, if necessary press fresh-air duct to one side.
Pull cable off handbrake indicator switch by pressing down the contact plate. Remove handbrake lever by removing the handbrake cables.

Installation:
Adjust handbrake indicator switch.
