Selector Shaft, A/T

Grip clamp bushing (1).
Loosen nut (2).
Disconnect cable.

Installation:
Adjust shift lever, refer to Shift Lever A/T, Adjustment.





Slacken nut (1).
Remove shift lever (2).

E39:
Remove position switch, refer to Powertrain Management.





Screw special tool 24 5 361 into radial sealing ring.





Screw special tool 24 5 362 on 24 5 361 and tighten down.
This pulls the radial seal out of the transmission housing.





Mount special tool 24 5 365 on the manual shift valve shaft.
Moisten sealing lips of radial sealing ring (1) with automatic transmission fluid.
Push radial sealing ring (1) onto manual shift valve shaft and press into transmission housing as far as possible.
Grip radial seal (1) firmly.
Pull special tool 24 5 365 off manual shift valve shaft.





Pull radial sealing ring into transmission housing up to stop with special tool 24 5 370 and 24 5 364.
