Extension Housing: Service and Repair

Remove propeller shaft.
Remove output flange.
Hold output flange with special tool 23 0 020.
Unscrew collar nut with a wrench socket.
Pull off output flange.





Pull plug off of speed sender.
Remove transmission extension.
Unscrew bolts with special tool 24 5 180.

Caution!
Bolts have inch threads.

Remove transmission extension and seal.





Locate seal in position with grease (Vaseline).
Mount transmission extension.
Guide operating rod (1) for parking lock into pawl (2).

Caution!
Only use bolts with inch threads.
Tightening torque, refer to Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Specifications.

Mount and bolt output flange.
Tightening torque, refer to Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Specifications.
