SUBJECT:
Instrument Cluster Not Encodable, 1999 Model Year

MODEL:
E38 (7 Series), E39, (5 Series)

Situation:
Instrument Clusters introduced from September 1998 (1999 Model Year) are not encodable with DIS CD version 15.0, or lower. The affected Instrument Clusters are:

Instrument Cluster with Integrated IKE, software version 11.0

Low Instrument Cluster, software version 15.0

Cause:
ZCS encoding software error.

Correction:
When a replacement part is required, order a precoded Instrument Cluster. As this must be coded at the factory, please order via direct ship, with the VIN number included on the form.

Uncoded Instrument Clusters will be made available in the PDC after the release of DIS CD version 15.1 With DIS version 15.1, Instrument Cluster coding can be carried out in the normal way.
