SUBJECT:
CMT 5000VR, CPT 6000VR Telephones, Memory Upload Procedures.
MODEL:
E39 5 Series, E38 7 Series vehicles equipped with CMT 5000VR or CPT 6000VR Cellular Telephones.
Situation:
After replacing a defective I-BUS Interface Box, a technician tests the phone and finds that the Phone Numbers, Name Tags, etc., previously stored in the system, are only accessible via the Handset and are not available (depending on vehicle model and equipment level) through the MFL, MID or Board Monitor.
Cause:
In order to have the information stored in the Transceiver (CMT 5000VR) or Portable Handset (CPT 6000VR) readily available to the integrated vehicle system, a "Vehicle Copy" of this information must also be stored in the I-BUS Interface Box.
When an I-BUS Interface Box has been replaced, the information stored in the Transceiver or Portable Handset must be Uploaded (transferred) to the Interface Box.
Warranty Information:
For information only.
