Procedure 4

Modification of steering column support tube bracket.





Gain access to the support tube mount at the center console by removing:

1. On-board computer or clock.

2. Air conditioning control module (behind storage bin).

3. Cigarette lighter/storage bin assembly.





Remove bolts holding support tube mounting bracket. Remove bracket.





Modify bracket by cutting off the end as illustrated. Touch up bare metal with paint.





Install modified bracket.

Tightening torque: 24 Nm.

Reinstall all components at center console.
