Removing and Installing Center Console

Removing and installing finisher for preselector lever.
Removing and installing heater controls.
Removing and installing switch for hazard warning lights.
Removing and installing switch for central locking.
If necessary, remove and install both switches for seat heating.
If necessary, remove and install switch for rear window roller blind.
If necessary, remove and install switch for electronic damper control.
If necessary, remove and install switch for Park Distance Control.
If necessary, remove and install switch for Automatic Stability Control.

L7 only:
Remove and install rear storage shelf.







Unfasten screws on left/right sides.
Pull side carpet on left/right sides forward out of clips.







Unfasten screws from driver's side.







Remove top left wooden finisher by pulling upwards.







Unfasten screws (front left oddments tray).







Unclip back of side carpet (rear oddments tray) on left and right sides, then pull backwards to remove from clips.







Unfasten screws on left/right sides.
All except for L7:
Removing and installing fresh air grill in rear compartment.







All except for L7:
Remove connectors (1) and (2).
Unlock receptacle housing (3) and remove.
If necessary, remove connector plug (4) (rear seat heating).







Unclip panel (rear storage shelf) above opening, rear (1) and front (2).







Remove screws (1 ... 3).
Disconnect plugs (4) and (5). Unlock connector housing (6) (if necessary after removal of center console) and remove.

NOTE: When dismantling the center console, do not damage the wood.

Lift center console (7) forwards and upwards to remove.







Unfasten screws and pull wooden finisher on storage tray (center) forwards to remove.
Unfasten connector (1) (and wooden finisher) and pull connector holder (2) of complete wiring harness backwards.







Unfasten screws.







Unfasten plastic nuts at top and remove wooden finisher (1).







Installation:
Fit outer plastic nuts with knurling (2) facing finisher and fit internal plastic nuts with hex (1) facing finisher (risk of damage to passenger airbag).







Unfasten screw and expanding rivet (oddments tray at top right).

NOTE: Move preselector lever backwards and adjust steering wheel to top maximum setting.







Unfasten screw and remove complete oddments tray by lifting backwards.
