Control Panel
IHKR2 CONTROL PANEL
Although the IHKR2 control panel looks almost identical to the IHKR1 control panel (except for the LEDs on the push-buttons), there are significant changes:
- The rear window defroster; A/C compressor; and recirculating air push-buttons operate momentary contact-type switches.
- The bottom air distribution slide lever is connected to a bowden cable which is used to operate the left and right footwell/rear floor flaps. (The stepper motors are deleted).
- The blower control knob drives a four-contact switch assembly that supplies power to the blower motor through a resistor pack.
- The type and location of electrical connections on the back of the control panel has changed: the main connection to the control module now has 18 pins (instead of 26) and is located near the center of the panel; the vehicle wiring harness plugs directly into the push-button assembly (the jumper harness from the control panel circuit board to the push-button switch is gone).
- The interior temperature sensor fan moved to the left side of the panel (as viewed from the back) and is a different design motor.
