Quarter Window Glass: Service and Repair

51 37 171 REPLACING LEFT OR RIGHT REAR SIDE WINDOW

Remove rear seat - see Group 52.
Remove rear side trim panel- see 51 43 000.






Lift off window recess strip from above with Special Tool 51 3 070.






Unscrew screws (1).
Loosen screw (2).
Push back and 11ft off connecting bracket.

Installation
Adjust rear side window - see 51 37 154.
Adjustments

Raise side window and run out of seal by about 20 mm (0.787").

Important
Disconnect plug (5) on power window motor in the interest of safety.






Pull off covers.






Note.
If the window cannot be operated electrically, unscrew screw (1) and disengage toothed element upward off of the power window motor.
Main stop (2) must be unscrewed depending on the position of the side window.

Loosen nuts (1 and 2) and screw in adjusting screw completely.






Unscrew screws (1) and nut of adjusting screw (2).
Hold side window tight, press in at top and swing adjusting screw (2) out of the window regulator at the bottom.
Lower the side window and tighten adjusting screw (2).

Installation:

If necessary, remove front stop.
Lift and remove side window from above.
