Heater Core Case: Service and Repair

REMOVING AND INSTALLING HEATER (IHKA)

- Draw refrigerant out of air conditioner

- Remove complete dashboard

- Remove complete wiper console.





- Loosen hose clamps on heater hoses (1 ... 3) and pull off hoses.

Note: Clean heater pipea with compressed air carefully to prevent coolant in the passenger compartment while removing the heater.





- Unscrew nut.

Installatton:
Tightening torque
Replace O-rings.





- Unscrew left and right bolts.

Note: Only the right bolts are shown in the picture.





- Remove shear-off screw from steering column.





- Unscrew screws and lower steering column.





- Unscrew screws and pull clamp forward slightly.





- Unscrew screw (1) and nut (2) on left and right sides and pull out brackets.





- Unscrew screws and place control unit for electric steering column control aside.





- Disconnect plug (1). Unscrew ground lead (2).





- Lift out left and right air ducts. Remove heater.





Installation:
Brush out pipe opening with tire mounting paste.
