DME Functions
ASC+T on vehicles fitted with ADS II has the same function of shift intervention (i.e., no shifting via Electronic Transmission Control (EGS) during ASC regulation) as does ASC+T on vehicles equipped with EML.
Both the Slip Control Module (ASC+T) and Auxiliary Throttle Control Module (ADS II) are connected to the Diagnostic Data Link (RXD and TXD Lines).
For detailed information on the Slip Control System for the 740i/iL, refer to the appropriate Electrical Troubleshooting Manual, Diagnostic Procedures Manual, and the instructions displayed on the BMW Service Tester. (Note: As of the date of this bulletin, diagnosis is only possible with the BMW Service Tester, using Special Diagnosis Diskette, P/N 01 57 9 786 667. When V11.0 software is available, it should be used for diagnosis of these systems).
