Check Control (cc)

The Check Control system is an active information system which indicates to the driver by way of the MID display failures of important functions, and information and warnings.

Depending on their importance, the functions are assigned to priority groups and displayed in text form when problems are detected. To ensure that the driver is aware of the problem a warning gong is triggered and the "check" lamp is illuminated when the text is initially displayed. The information is acknowledged and the check lamp is extinguished when the check button is pressed. Function indicator lamps are also integrated in the system to comply with legal regulations.

In a sense, Check Control operates in the same basic manner as in the E32 and E34 series. The greatest difference is that there is no Check Control Module. The sensor inputs are connected to the EKM. The message display is sent to the MID by way of the I-Bus. The EKM also triggers the warning gong.
