Test Numbers of Individual Control Units

- The numbers of the individual control units have been reallocated
- From 1 - 9: Drive control units
- From 10 - 49: Body electronics
- As of 50: Running - gear control systems

- All other functions remain the same.

Attention! The highlighting of numbers means that only these numbers can be selected. Faults stored in the memory are displayed as before during the quick test by highlighting the entire text.

NEW: In addition, the asterisk is turned into an "F", so as to make it possible to display "Fault stored" on the printout.
*1 Engine Electronics (DME)

A new diagnostic program for DME1.7 used on the M70. Special instructions with nominal values can be selected with the status request.

*2 Engine Power Control (EML)

The diagnostic program has been adapted for use with the manual transmission.

*3 EH transmission (EGS)

The diagnostic program automatically selects the old or new diagnostic version depending on the control unit in use.

*10 Electronic Body Module (EKM)

The diagnostic program for EKM contains (among other things);
1. a comprehensive fault memory with troubleshooting;
2. a systematic test sequence for the EKM;
3. a system test for the EKM control unit;
4. the ability to activate the tachometer A signal.

*11 Body Electronics (ZKE)

A new diagnostic program for ZKE with comprehensive fault memory and a test sequence that enables detailed, systematic testing of individual ZKE systems.

*12 Infrared Lock Systems (IR)

The diagnostic program has been adapted to the modifications made to IR system in the E31.

*13 Cluster (K)

Systematic test sequence for detailed testing of the control unit.

*14 Lamp check module (LKM) A separate program for LKM.

*16 Multi Info Display (MID) A new program for MID.

*18 Burglar Alarm (DWA)

A new program for DWA in the E31.

Note: Due to the EKM, the DWA in the E31 can be diagnosed only when terminal 15 (ignition switch ON/position II) is switched on. It is not possible to test activation/deactivation of the DWA or locking signals with DWA activation/deactivation. This is accomplished through the ZKE program.

*19 Airbag (AB)

The diagnostic program corresponds to the program for the E32. However, it does not cover the passenger's seat belt tensioner.
*20 Seat/mirror memory (SPM/SM)

The diagnostic program for SPM/SM has been adapted to the modification mode for the integral seat system.

*21 Steering column memory (LSM)

A new program for LSM.

*30 Auto climate control (IHKA)

The diagnostic program for IHKA has been modified to the E31.

*50 Slip Control System (ABS/ASC)

New program for ABS/ASC+T. Only the control unit with version No. 1 159 494 (crimson sticker) can be read out. These control units are installed on all vehicles with manual transmissions and all vehicles with manual transmission and all vehicles with EGS with an approximate production date of 9/90 and later.

*54 Electronic Absorber Control (EDC) A new program for EDC III.
