SOFTWARE VERSION 2.01 (FOR BMW MODIC)

How to load the 2.01 Software

To help deter theft of your MODIC from your service shop, a secret code has been built into the 2.01 software that will prevent an unauthorized person from downloading the software. Software must be downloaded when:

1. Memory batteries in the MODIC die;
2. Fifty control units have been encoded;

3. New updated software has become available. When ordering a MODIC, the order form (available from the BMW Product and Service Engineering Department) has a space for the name of your authorized person. The secret access code will be sent to your authorized person via a separate communication.
