Blower Motor Resistor: Service and Repair

BLOWER MOTOR FINAL STAGE, REPLACING

Blower motor speed is regulated through the blower final stage, often referred to as the "sword".

- Remove glove compartment.

- Remove carpet trim piece from right side of center console. A screw retains trim piece at front end.




- Remove ventilation air duct retaining screws (arrows) and clips. Pull air duct down and out.

- Disconnect all plugs on heater/A/C control module and from final stage. Move wire harness aside.




- Remove final stage mounting screws (arrows).




- Remove final stage by pulling to right.

- Installation is reverse of removal.
