Spark Plug: Service and Repair

Component Location:

1. Remove the fuel injector sound insulation.
2. Remove the cylinder head sound insulation.

Direct Ignition Component Locations:

3. Disconnect the coil electrical connector.
4 Remove the two fasteners on the ignition coil and pull out the coil(s) along with the spark plug connectors.





5 Remove the spark plugs using BMW special tool or equivalent.
6. Reinstall in the reverse manner.

NOTE: The BMW spark plug socket automatically torques the spark plugs to specification. If BMW special tools are not available torque spark plugs to 17 ft. lbs.
