Code 16 (Camshaft Position Sensor)

CAMSHAFT PULSE GENERATOR
Explanation
This trouble code is stored when the pulse generator signal is interrupted or faulty. The ignition coils for cylinders 1/6, 5/2 or 3/4 are then activated synchronously, resulting in ignition also during the exhaust stroke.

Troubleshooting
- Proceed with displayed scan tool diagnostic instructions where applicable.
- Check signal with oscilloscope. Connect universal adapter to engine wire harness. The signal is output once per camshaft revolution.
