Window Heating/Defrosting: Overview

When the rear window defrost button is pushed, the window is heated for a period of 10 minutes. The yellow LED on the button is also illuminated. After 10 minutes, power is regulated to the window in a 40 second ON, 80 second OFF mode to conserve energy. The LED goes out in this mode.

The rear window is automatically defrosted if the defrost button for air distribution is selected.

The lower portion of the windshield is heated automatically below temperatures of 41 °F (and turned off at 46°F) to prevent the wiper blades from freezing.
