Updated MODIC software is now available. Version 2.0 software supersedes Encoding Code software V1.0
(P/N O1 11 9 787 851).
Program Highlights
^ The programs for encoding control modules via a code number (E32 and E34 with a production date of 9/90 to 10/91) have been updated on this diskette.
The following control modules can be encoded with this diskette. The code numbers which must be keyed into the MODIC can be found on a label on the inside of the fuse box lid.
7 Series (E32) and 5 Series (E34)
with "CODE" Number (9/90 to 10/91 Production)
Encoding of Spare Parts
This diskette contains encoding programs only. All diagnostic work should be done with the current diagnostic software.

Any defective diskettes should be returned to BMW NA via the BMW Tool Warranty. Details of the program can be found in your Parts Information Binder under bulletin I-24 dated 4/95.
This software will be sent out via the Automatic Tool Shipment Program. Additional copies may be purchased through your Parts Distribution Center.
How to Load 2.0 Software with the MODIC Station
(MODIC I or MODIC II)
1. Place 2.0 in the MODIC Station drive.
2. Press 2 - Load diskette then -
3. Press 1 coding and
4. Screen says "Program Overwrite?" Y or N
5. Press "Y" - Disc A will now load. Please note that if you do not have an earlier version of this software in your MODIC you will not have to perform steps 4 and 5.
Special Note:
When the MODIC is attached to a car and the main menu is displayed the "C" may be pressed to bring you to an "erase" menu. You erase a program by simply pressing the number and.
6. If you attempt to load a program and there is insufficient memory for it, the MODIC will display "Memory Insufficient. Do you want to erase Y or N".
If "Y" is entered a menu screen will allow you to pick which software you wish to erase.
