Alpine Alarm Installation - Update Instructions

MODELS:
5 Series (E34)

General Information:
The transistor module (P/N 88 88 1 600 219) used in Alpine Alarm Kit P/N 88 88 1 600 203 to monitor trunk operation on 5 Series (E34) vehicles is no longer available.

If P/N 88 88 1 600 219 is ordered, it will be automatically superseded to the transistor module P/N 88 88 1 600 271 used in Alpine Alarm Kit P/N 88 88 1 600 227.

While the two transistors modules are fully interchangeable, installation instructions must be modified to reflect wire color code differences between the two modules.

Current Instructions (for Transistor Module, P/N 88 88 1 600 219)

Black Wire:
Connect to brown wire on trunk multi-pin connector using 3M connector.

Blue Wire:
Connect to blue wire from Pin # 7 of alarm control unit using 3M connector.

Red/Black Wire:
Connect to red/white wire on trunk multi-pin connector using 3M connector.

Updated Instructions (for Transistor Module, P/N 88 88 1 600 271)

Brown Wire:
Cut off round male connector, and connect wire to brown wire on trunk multi-pin connector using 3M connector.

Blue wire with round female connector:
Connect to blue wire from Pin # 7 of alarm control unit using 3M connector (after removing round female connector); or, install round male connector on blue wire from pin # 7 on alarm control unit and connect to round female connector.



Blue wire with round male connector:
Connect to red/white wire on trunk multi-pin connector, by cutting off round male connector and using 3M connector.

Note:
As the transistor module (P/N 88 88 1 600 271) has two blue wires (only distinguished from each other by the type of connector), DO NOT remove these connectors at the same time. Make only one connection at a time to avoid confusing the two wires.
