Flap Control
OperationThe ventilation and defroster flaps are continuously variable by means of an operating cable assembly. The footwell flaps are adjusted by setting a sliding potentiometer. The fresh air flaps are controlled by way of a stepper motor depending upon the blower switch and the vehicle speed. By pressing the recirculated air button, the fresh air flaps are closed and the recirculated air flaps opened. The mixing flaps are adjusted by the mixing air control wheel and the control variable L When the ventilation flap is closed, the mixing air flap moves to the "warm" position (controlled by microswitch).
After switching off the ignition, the flaps powered by stepper motors assume the following positions:
Footwell CLOSED
Mixing WARM
Fresh air OPEN
Recirculated air CLOSED
