Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair





REMOVE

- Disconnect ground lead of battery.
- Disconnect brake lines (1 and 2).

Installation Note: Line (1) to brake master cylinder, rear. Line (2) to brake master cylinder, front.

CAUTION: Catch escaping brake fluid and keep it off of clothes and paint.





- Disconnect front left, front right, rear left and rear right brake lines.
- Unscrew bolt (3) and take off cover.

Installation Note: Don't mix up lines! Mark lines before disconnecting!
- Front left (VL) to front left brake caliper.
- Front right (VR) to front right brake caliper.
- Rear left (HL) to rear left brake caliper.
- Rear right (HR) to rear right brake caliper.

CAUTION: Keep lines and connections clean (insert plugs).





- Unscrew bolts (4 and 5).
- Pull off multiple pin plug.
- Disconnect ground wire (6).
- Loosen nuts (7... 9).
- Pull up and remove hydraulic unit.

INSTALL
- Install in reverse order. Pay attention to installation notes.
- Bleed brakes.
- Check function of Antilock Brake System (ABS).
