- Run the engine at idle speed. It must be at normal operating temperature (coolant temperature at least 70°C/158°F).
- Keep an additional coolant temperature sensor (spare part) in readiness. Connect the sensor to earth (ground).
- Set the program preselector to HEATING AUTOMATIC and the airflow volume to 90%.
- Press the rear seat area button.
- Preselect a temperature of 29°C (84°F).
The footwell and rear seat area flaps must be open. The blower will run at high speed (blower motor voltage approximately 11V).
- Disconnect the terminal from the built-in coolant temperature sensor and attach it to the spare temperature sensor. This must be at a temperature of not more than 15°C (59°F). Cool with a suitable refrigerant spray if necessary.
- The footwell and rear seat area flaps must be closed. The blower must not run (0V).
