Heater Core Case: Service and Repair

Removal and Installation

- Remove and install instrument panel trim.





- Unscrew mounting bolts and take off fresh air grill.





- Unscrew mounting screws for cover.

- Pull off rubber seal as required.

- Remove cover and tilt forward.

• Installation: Be careful not to pinch vacuum hoses for fresh air flaps.

- Discharge pressure from coolant tank (unscrew cap).





- Detach coolant feed hose at heater.

- Detach vacuum hoses.

• Installation: Attach vacuum hoses that colors match. Fill and bleed cooling system.





- Detach coolant return hose at heater.

- Detach vacuum hose.





- Bend open duct mounting clamp. Disconnect central plug. Remove duct cover downward.

• Installation: Make sure that air duct is connected to heater.





- Detach center strut at top left and right.





- Detach center strut at bottom left and remove.





- Remove insulation. Discharge air conditioner. Detach refrigerant lines (2 and 3) at heater/air conditioner. Disconnect extra harness (1).

• Installation: Charge air conditioner. Insulate refrigerant line again.





- Detach heater from passenger compartment at top and bottom, left and right.





- Detach heater at spray wall, left and right. Remove heater toward inside. Detach condensation hoses at bottom of heater/air conditioner.

- Reverse procedure to install.
