Operation
The cold-start interlock acts on the blower and the flaps.
When the car is started with the engine cold, the cold-start inhibit circuit prevents drafts of cold air from being discharged to the car's interior. The interlock function take effect only in the preselected settings RECIRCULATED AIR HEATING TOP/BOTTOM, AUTOMATIC HEATING and AIR CONDITIONING, and then only when the control unit lever is advanced beyond 66%. A percentage scale is marked on the control unit and is visible after detaching the lower facia trim. The cold-start inhibiting circuit cutout according to regulator setting is designed to ensure that the cooling action none the less starts immediately if the car's interior is very warm.
The coolant temperature signal is derived from the coolant thermometer.
