SUBJECT:
Service Interval Indicator (S.I.I.) Printed Circuit Board
MODELS:
E30
Situation:
Replacement S.I.I. printed circuit board cannot be inserted fully into instrument cluster housing. There are two suppliers of instrument cluster components, VDO and MOTOMETER.
Parts from these two suppliers are interchangeable. However, if a printed circuit board from MOTOMETER is installed into an instrument cluster from VDO, a relay on the board may contact an assembly tab in the cluster.
Repair:
Break off tab(s) with a suitable tool before installing the S.I.I. printed circuit board. The board can now be inserted fully.
